The Green Investment Bank (GIB) has committed £80m to support the construction of a new CHP ‘energy from waste facility’ in Kent. The plant will supply DS Smith’s Kemsley Paper Mill with 154 GWh of renewable electricity and 180 GWH of renewable energy per year. This will help decarbonise the mill, reduce GHG emissions whilst also reducing waste sent for landfill.
CHP and waste to energy plants are central in achieving the UK’s climate goals and to shift to cleaner energy sources. CIS have experience in both delivering and funding these technologies and can help your business reduce their carbon emissions.
