All Saints CofE Primary School

All Saints CE Primary School & Nursery

About the client

All Saints Primary School, in the north of Bishops Stortford town, catering for children aged 3-11. There are seven classrooms in the main school plus a purpose built nursery unit. The school is fortunate to have a large main hall, dining hall, library, smaller purpose built teaching rooms and an extensive playing field.

Drivers for the project

The school has an increasing energy demand, the school also operates out of school hours therefore the requirement for energy from 7am-7pm. As with most schools the pressures on budgets are increasing and the need to reduce costs are important. In addition the school are committed to reducing harmful emissions and educating their pupils on the installed technologies

Solution

Our replacement LED lighting throughout the school has achieved a significant reduction in energy consumption. The solar PV system is sized to optimise the amount of energy use on site each year with excess summer output being sold back to a utility provider.

Results

The project was delivered on budget and on time thanks to the close working relationship with the team at All Saints CE Primary & Nursery School team and CIS. The solar PV system was installed and commissioned within 3 days and includes remote access to a live data portal to share with staff and pupils, providing a key stage learning tool for all ages of students to learn about solar PV and other renewable energies.

“I have found the whole process of the project very smooth and wrinkle free. Any problems have been dealt with quickly and efficiently, and I have felt supported/guided throughout.  The installation of both lighting and solar PV was seamless, and as planned – where better solutions became apparent to the contractors, they suggested them and worked flexibly. Staff were reassured and felt safe due to the comprehensive Covid-19 measures put in place, and the project completed on time and as planned.  The outcomes for the school are better than anticipated, and we already have seen significant benefits in terms of energy use and reduced expenditure.  The post-project care has been very helpful and supportive, and we feel that we would be able to ask a question at any point and receive a prompt and helpful response.

Thank you Steve and team!”
