CIS are delighted to announce receiving 2 Green Apple Awards at the Houses of Parliament on Monday 12th November for Environmental Best Practice. The awards are for work with 2 different schools with the projects delivered in association with Northants County Council and UK Energy Partnership. CIS carried out a comprehensive assessment of opportunities at each school to find the most cost effective and impactful solutions to reduce operating costs and improve the school learning environment. The first school had a full LED lighting replacement programme delivering significant energy cost reductions, tripling the lighting system life span and improving lighting levels in all areas. The second school contracted CIS to design and install full replacement lighting and a roof mounted solar PV system. Both schemes were installed outside of school hours to minimise the impact on the school with all surveys, registrations and training on use being supplied by CIS to ensure the schools gained the most from their installations. In additional both projects attracted 100% Salix funding delivering interest free finance funded through energy bill savings.
