Farm turns waste into electricity and heat

Lodge Farm in North Wales has been turning animal and food waste into renewable energy, providing sufficient energy for the farm along with 150 kWh daily to the grid. Over the last five years the organic farms anaerobic digester, has generated over 4.5m kWh of electricity and heat, from waste product, most notably cow dung and food waist from a factory close by. This project has helped to address the UK’s food waste crisis by turning this waste into electricity and heat.
